PMHS freshman wins first, 2 juniors win third for City Island Rowing at N.Y. State Championships

PMHS freshman Marin Caiola placed first in girls novice eight at the New York State Rowing Championships in Saratoga Springs this weekend. PMHS juniors Reese McLean and Casey Creutz rowed in girls junior eight and took third. All three compete with City Island Rowing.

Caiola’s boat had a time of 6:23.036, while Creutz and McLean’s came in at 6:01.857.

“This was my third states, being able to have that experience and lead the younger girls was awesome,” McLean said. “I’m so proud of our team and how far we’ve come.”

City Island Rowing also had two boats place second—U17 8-plus and U16 4-plus—qualifying them for the youth nationals in Sarasota, Florida, later this year.
