Edward (Joe) Fullerton of Bronx, NY, passed away on May 18, 2022. He was 92 years old.

Joe was born and raised in Sladran, Co. Donegal, Ireland, to the late John and Mary Fullerton.

Joe left the Isle of Ireland, in June 1964 and settled in the United States with the love of his life, his wife Mary. Together they raised their only daughter, Mary, the apple of her father’s eye.

Joe was a member of the famous Donegal Tunnel Tigers, commonly known as the Tunnel Tigers of Inishowen. He was a legend of the tunnel world and is fondly remembered as one of the great tunnelers of his time, he was known affectionately amongst his colleagues as Blonde Joe. He was the glamor boy of the bunch with his dazzling good looks and swashbuckling style.

Later in life, Joe went on to work as a janitor at the N.Y. Athletic Club. He had a strong work ethic and loved his job.

Joe was a skilled worker, a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is another legend gone to soon, but his wit and blaggarding charm will live forever. He will be dearly missed; however, his family finds comfort in the many treasured memories he leaves behind.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary, his daughter, Mary, and her husband, Eamonn, his grandsons, Brendan and Eamonn, his wife Caroline and his great granddaughter, Mary, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of Joe’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home, located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham N.Y., on Monday, May 23, 2022, between the hours of 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 24, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, located at 535 Ashford Ave, Ardsley, NY 10502.
