To the editor:
I’d love a town pool. I grew up in Scarsdale, and as a kid I spent a lot of time at the pool, which was three and then four pools. An Olympic-sized pool, a diving pool, a kiddie pool and then they added an intermediate pool (for kids).
Keep in mind how much land you need for pools—it’s not just pools. It’s land for people to sit with towels. It’s locker rooms and showers. An entrance booth to check IDs. And parking. Plus maybe a snack bar with chairs and tables. The Scarsdale pool complex is massive. It’s way more than a square block.
