Rev. Mead of Christ Church nominated as candidate for Episcopal Bishop of New York

The Parish of Christ the Redeemer in Pelham is happy and honored to announce that our Priest and Rector, the Rev. Matthew Hoxsie Mead, has been selected as one of the nominees to stand for election as the next Bishop Diocesan for the Episcopal Diocese of New York.

On Saturday, December 3, 2022, lay delegates chosen by every parish and clergy from across the Diocese of New York will gather in the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine to elect the next Bishop of New York. The Bishop-Elect will be consecrated as Bishop-Coadjutor on Saturday, May 20, 2023. On March 16, 2024, the Bishop Coadjutor will be installed as the 17th Bishop of New York, following the retirement of the current Bishop of New York, the Right Rev. Andrew M L Dietsche.
