Voting continued after Fifth Avenue closed by police due to accident
Voting continued Tuesday afternoon at the Daronco Town House, the Village of Pelham’s polling station, after police shut down Fifth Avenue between First and Second streets to vehicular traffic following some kind of auto accident. Daronco is in that block, which was closed at around 3:20 p.m. and reopened as of 4:05 p.m.
When the street was closed, people were able to walk down the sidewalks to go into the town house and vote.
A car’s rear windshield was shattered and there appeared to be four to five passengers in the car. The Pelham Fire and Police departments and the EMS fly car were present at the scene. A police officer declined to comment on the accident.
Daronco Town House and all voting locations are open until 9 p.m.

A young man was hit on a bicycle by a driver on Fifth Ave. in front of the Daronco Town House which caused the street to be blocked. He was being attended by paramedics. Hopefully, he is doing well.

Actually, a young man on a bicycle rode into a car that was stopped due to traffic and caused significant damage to the vehicle. I understand the young man is doing well.
