Pelham Memorial High School’s award-winning drama club, Sock ‘n’ Buskin will present Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me A Tenor,” the Tony-nominated screwball comedy that’s sure to leave audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter in the high school auditorium November 18-20.

Showtimes are as follows:

  • Friday, November 18, 7:30pm
  • Saturday, November 19, 7:30pm
  • Saturday, November 19, 2pm
  • Sunday, November 20, 2pm

Set in 1934, “Lend Me A Tenor” is a hilarious combination of slapstick, word play and romance. The Cleveland Grand Opera Company is threatened with embarrassment when “Il Stupendo,” the Italian tenor they’ve imported to sing Pagliacci at the gala Grand Opening of their latest season, may prove to be indisposed (or even worse!) In this uproarious farce replete with slamming doors and a phone that never stops ringing, members of the opera company frantically try to make sure that the show must go on … even when the star can’t. The antics accelerate at full tilt, with one case of mistaken identity after another!

In a first for Sock ’n’ Buskin, we have two casts tackling this comedy. Twice the fun! The “Soprano Cast” includes Alexander Kahler, Ava Pursel, Daniel O’Keefe, Grace Kiamie, Jeremy Tam, Kirsten Agbenyega, Leah Sherbansky and Liam Ginsburg. The “Alto Cast” features Anderson Brady, Andrew Scott, Bella Rosado, Clare Pachuta, Courtney Valente, Jonah Snyder, Leila Brady and Sean McCormick.  The ensemble of Audrey Leung, Cristina Stefanizzi, Maddy Lyons and Owen Cuomo appears at all performances. Ken Ludwig’s “Lend Me A Tenor,”  is directed by Mr. Thomas Beck and Mr. Neil Schleifer.
