Constance Veteri – Feb. 18

Constance Elizabeth Veteri of Pelham, New York, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born in Mount Vernon, NY, on June 25, 1929, to Frank and Carmella Iocca, one of 2 children. Connie graduated from A.B. Davis High School in Mount Vernon. She would later meet her husband of 62 years, Joseph John Veteri. The couple would marry and move from Mount Vernon, NY, to Pelham, NY, where they raised their 3 children.

Connie’s main purpose in life was ensuring that her family’s needs were taken care of. She loved life and she loved her family above all else. She always made sure family came first and always enjoyed spending time surrounded by family and friends.

Connie was a parishioner of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Pelham Senior Society. She enjoyed many a day trip with them. Connie loved to play cards with her friends; share Saturday night dinner dates, and every now and again she could be found placing a bet or two at the various local casinos.

Connie will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, relative and wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed; however, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.

Connie is survived by her children, Robert (Jill) Veteri, Joseph (Christine) Veteri, and Michele (Eugene) Maruschak. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Robert (Rebecca), Christopher (Michael), Gregory (Bried), and Joseph Veteri; Gina Maruschak and Deanna (Blake) Joh and her great-grandchildren, Lia, Cole, Sadie, Ruby, Gracie, Millie, Oliver Veteri; and Jayden Joh. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and her sister Joyce (Mario) Spartos.

A celebration of Connie’s life will take place at the Pelham Funeral Home located at 64 Lincoln Ave., Pelham NY on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
