Five Pelham Memorial High School seniors are among 16,000 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.

The PMHS semifinalists are:

  • Elise Aronson
  • Rachel Brewer
  • Richard Che
  • Benjamin Glickman
  • Liam Ronan

“I am extremely proud of each of our students and congratulate them on this great academic
achievement,” said PMHS Principal Jeannine Clark. “The honor of being named a National Merit
Semifinalist is reflective of the hard work and dedication shown by both our students and our teachers.”

“These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring,” said the National Merit Scholarship Corp. on its website. “About 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar title.”
