The Board of Education will meet at 6:15pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in Room 280 in Pelham Middle School, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will immediately consider a motion to enter executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person(s). The Board is expected to reconvene in public in the Pelham Middle School Library at approximately 7:30pm for the regular business portion of the meeting. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube live.

Members of the public may attend the meeting in-person.

At the meeting, Dr. Champ will present the Superintendent’s End-of-Year report on progress toward the District’s Strategic Plan. The Board will also honor the following employees who are retiring from the District this school year:

• Robert Lieber
• Kathleen Falvey
• Amy Heese
• Sally Tedesco
• Jose Pereira

Additionally, retiring Board of Education members Jessica B. DeDomenico and Sue Childs will be honored for their service to the District.

Prior to the meeting, a brief reception for this year’s retirees will be held at 7pm in the hallway outside the Middle School Library. Light refreshments will be served. (Please note that this recognition of retirees was originally scheduled for June 7, but was postponed).

In addition to Dr. Champ’s Superintendent’s report, the agenda may include updates from each School Board committee, Finances and Facilities, and Human Resources. Additionally there may be an update on academic progress and the District’s efforts to meet student needs as well as updates on the three goal areas of the Strategic Plan: Cultural Competence, Authentic Learning, and the Whole Child.

The Board may also review and/or adopt the following policies: Policy #7110: Comprehensive Student Attendance Policy; Policy #5220: District Investments; Policy #5410: Purchasing; Policy #5110: Budget Planning and Development; and Policy #6215: Probation and Tenure. These policies will be available for review on BoardDocs as part of the meeting agenda.
