THE PICTURE HOUSE PRESENTS THE 21st ANNUAL MANHATTAN SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Audiences in Over 350 Cities Spanning 6 Continents Unite to Judge the 10 Finalists at the

World’s First Global Film Festival

Thursday, October 4th; 7:30 p.m.

Pelham, NY – Sept 26, 2018 – What’s the Best Short Film of 2018? You be the judge at the 21st Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival at The Picture House Regional Film Center (TPH) in Pelham. On Thursday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. moviegoers from Westchester and beyond will have the opportunity to join more 100,000 film-lovers in more than 300 venues in across 6 continents as they cast their ballots for Best Film and Best Actor/Actress. Nine amazing short films have been selected from 1,565 entries from 73 countries. The final films will screen more than 1,000 times in over 350 cities on six continents during the week of September 27th – October 7th and all nine qualify for Oscar consideration.

“The Manhattan Short Film Festival is the world’s first and only global film festival and is shown exclusively at local venues around the world,” said Clayton Bushong, Director of Programming at The Picture House Regional Film Center. “By casting their ballots at The Picture House, our audience members have the limited opportunity to act as a global film critics for the evening.”

On entry to The Picture House, audience members will be handed a ballot card that allows them to vote for the best short film and actor/actress at the conclusion of the program. Votes will be sent to MANHATTAN SHORT’s headquarters and the winner will be announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday October 8th at 10:00 a.m. EST.

The first MANHATTAN SHORT was held in 1998, when 16 short films were shown onto a screen mounted on the side of a truck in Little Italy’s Mulberry Street in New York City, and has blossomed into a worldwide phenomenon. MANHATTAN SHORT is the only film festival on the planet that unfolds, simultaneously, in cinemas around the world, bringing over 100,000 film-lovers across six continents together for one week, to view the work of the next generation of filmmakers.
