November 2023 – Bronxville and Pelham, NY –The Picture House Regional Film Center will kick-off the holiday season with the return of Santa Needs Your Help, a family-friendly, interactive event with award-winning writer, producer and author Kevin Maher and Santa on December 2nd at 10:00 am at TPH Pelham. Children in the audience will help Santa get ready for Christmas through a delightful combination of games, songs, and an exclusive glimpse into Santa’s video library. Mr. Maher will sign copies of his book, Santa Doesn’t Need Your Help, which will be available for purchase. The event will also include the special guest, Joe Dator, the book’s illustrator and co-director of the short film Santa Doesn’t Need Your Help. Additionally, Mr. Dator will offer guests custom drawings inside their copies. There will be a Q&A and an opportunity for photos with Santa following the show.

Kevin Maher is an Emmy-nominated writer, filmmaker, comedian, and poet. His work has been featured on AMC, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. His short films have been shown everywhere from MOMA to Troma, with screenings outside of Sundance and Cannes. He directed the one-man show I, SANTA: Confessions from Behind the Beard and has worked as a Santa-for-hire.
Joe Dator has been a cartoonist for The New Yorker since 2006. He is a winner of The National Cartoonists Society’s 2018 Silver Reuben Award, which he hopes will somehow raise his credit score. Joe has been featured in two documentaries about the cartoonists of The New Yorker, including one for HBO, and has been profiled in a video by The Atlantic.
