From the New York State Open Meetings Law, here is the language covering a permitted executive session called to discuss the sale, purchase or lease of real estate: “h. the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property or the proposed acquisition of securities, or sale or exchange of securities held by such public body, but only when publicity would substantially affect the value thereof.“
The Board of Education will meet at 6pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Room 280 in Pelham Middle School, 28 Franklin Place, Pelham, NY 10803. It is anticipated that the Board will immediately consider a motion to enter executive session to discuss the employment history of a particular person(s) and the proposed acquisition, sale or lease of real property. The Board is expected to reconvene in public in the Pelham Middle School Library at approximately 7pm for a work session regarding the preliminary 2024-25 school budget. The meeting can be viewed on YouTube live. After the work session, the Board will hold a brief business meeting.
Members of the public may attend the meeting in-person.
Following an overview of the 2024-25 preliminary budget, the Board will conduct a line-by-line review of the budget sections related to Teaching & Learning, Technology and BOCES. The remainder of the budget will be reviewed according to the following schedule:
