The front walkway leading to Prospect Hill School became a place where history came to life on May 13 when the 2nd graders showcased what they’ve learned through the Wax Museum Project!
For this annual exhibit, students researched biographies of historical figures, such as political leaders, scientists, athletes and more! On the day of the event, the students dressed up as the person they researched. For the price of a penny, attendees watched the “wax figures” spring to life as they shared the speeches they wrote upon completion of a graphic organizer they filled in based on their biography. Some of the historical figures included Leonardo Da Vinci, Frida Kahlo, David Bowie, Jane Goodall, Neil Armstrong, Theodore Roosevelt, Jackie Robinson, Helen Keller, Ruby Bridges and Nikola Tesla.
The students will vote on which animal they would like to symbolically adopt through the World Wildlife Fund, in addition to making a donation to Prospect Hill’s Outdoor Classroom with the pennies they earned.
Congratulations to all of the Prospect Hill 2nd graders and thank you to teachers Julie Martin, Linda O’Meara and Katy Zweig for organizing this annual event!
