Mark-Anthony Effy Giordano – June 9

Mark-Anthony Effy Giordano of Harrison, NY tragically lost his life June 9, 2024 at the young age of 13. Born on December 25th, 2010, he was the greatest Christmas gift to ever grace this earth. After graduating from Hutchinson Elementary School in Pelham New York, Mark went on to Louis M. Klein Middle School when him, his mother and his sister moved to Harrison in 2021. In just 3 years, he managed to create an undeniable impact on the town and it has not been the same since.

Mark-Anthony was set to graduate from the 8th grade to begin his high school career, further pursuing his ambitions as a star athlete. He had already dominated this past year on the Harrison Varsity Wrestling Team classing at 220lbs, making it to the championship sectionals and winning awards such as Rye H.S. Bernie Miller Tournament 2023 Most Outstanding Wrestler and Harrison High School 2023 Rookie of the Year Award. His success as a Harrison Huskey was diabolical, as he managed to push the boundaries every time he stepped foot on the matt.

His accomplishments didn’t stop there, as he was anticipating to start Varsity Football this Fall, as a Freshman. This comes as no surprise, as he dedicated his life to the sport at just 6 years old playing for New Rochelle’s flag football team. His passion only grew further, when he began playing for Pelham, which soon led to an undefeated season in 2019. To celebrate the success, Ray Rice provided the team with championship rings, which made Mark feel like his two worlds, New Rochelle and Pelham, were seamlessly colliding.

His success was only a mere reflection of his strength and ability to bring people closer together. Anyone who knew Mark-Anthony, knew his perfect smile that made everyone around him feel nearly as warm and infectious as he was. In just 13 years, he was able to transform the lives of so many people, specifically those of his mother, Michelle, and his sister, Lizah. May his legacy continue to live on and impact the people that were blessed enough to know such an incredible and loving human being.
