Pelham Examiner, Inc. approved as member of New York Press Association

The New York Press Association, one of the largest state press associations in the country, has approved Pelham Examiner, Inc. for membership. The professional organization, founded in 1853, represents 800 weekly, daily, alternative and specialized newspapers across New York.

The NYPA board of directors, which voted on the application, includes publishers and senior editorial executives from papers around the state, including the Hudson Register-Star, the Eagle Newspaper Group in Syracuse, the Long Island Press, the Red Hook Star-Review and Westmore News, which covers Port Chester and Rye Brook.

“NYPA plays a vital role in New York’s newspaper industry, annually sponsoring the largest newspaper training conference in the country, successfully influencing legislation, providing a free libel hotline, sponsoring an annual better newspaper contest, providing paid summer internships for college students, free legal consultation, bi-monthly newsletters, regional training, press credentials, NewsToShare content-sharing platform, insurance and more,” the association said.

The Pelham Examiner already enjoys member benefits through the Local Independent Online News publishers.
