Police cars and fire trucks closed down a portion of Fifth Avenue on Thursday evening to deal with a fire in a manhole, according to the Village of Pelham Fire Department.
A Pelham police officer on the scene said the fire caused the electricity to go out, leading several businesses on the street to lose power.
Emergency services vehicles arrived on the scene at about 7:50 p.m. and taped off the area between STATS Preschool and Sneaker Peak. Two police cars blocked the street from Bangkok City to the end of the block.
Around 8:45 p.m., the two police cars blocking the street left, along with the fire trucks, while another patrol car remained at the taped area.
A firefighter said a cause for the fire had not been determined.
Con Edison was also on the scene.

I had to go to Google to find out where on Fifth Avenue this happened. It would have helped if you had added “between Second and Third Streets” after “Sneaker Peak”. Just a suggestion.
