We are excited to announce the release of the 2024-25 District events calendar. We encourage you to review the calendar and also pay special attention to the dates, events and information detailed below. Additionally, please review the District’s single-page calendar, which highlights school breaks, holiday closures and early dismissals.

First Day of School Start Times

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 3. Arrival for all elementary school students is 8:15am. Middle and high school students will begin on a staggered schedule, as follows:

Middle School

• Gr. 6: 8:15am
• Gr. 7: 9:02am
• Gr. 8: 9:46am

High School

• Gr. 9: 8:15am
• Gr. 10: 9:02am
• Gr. 11: 9:46am
• Gr. 12: 10:30am

Please note that on the first day of school, grades K-6 will dismiss at 12pm. All other grades will dismiss according to the regular bell schedule.

1pm Dismissals for Professional Development

Over the course of the school year, there are five days when all students will be dismissed at 1pm to facilitate professional learning for our teachers and staff. The early dismissals are as follows:

• September 25
• October 23
• January 15
• March 26
• April 30

Additionally, please note that Friday, March 14 will be a Superintendent’s Conference Day with no classes for students.

Additional Early Dismissals

Students will also be released at 12pm on the following dates:

• September 3 (K-6 Only)
• November 27 (K-12, Emergency Evacuation Drill)
• December 12 (Gr. 6-12 Only – Parent/teacher conferences)
• March 13 (K-12 – Parent/Teacher Conferences)

Compensatory Days if Snow Days are Not Used/ Last Three Days of Schools

If the District does not use any Emergency/Snow Days, schools will be closed on Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23. If the District uses only one Emergency/Snow Day, schools will be closed on Friday, May 23, and May 22 will be a regular day of classes. If two or more Emergency/Snow Days are used, both May 22 and May 23 will be regular school days.

June 25, 25 & 27 are scheduled to be 12pm dismissals for K-6 students, however school may be closed on each of those days depending on how many Snow/Emergency closure days are used. The Board of Education will make a final determination regarding these changes before May 2025. Please refer to the chart below:

Emergency Closure Days Used/Possible Calendar Scenarios

• 0: School is closed on May 22 & 23; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 24, 2025
• 1: May 22 is a regular day of school; School is closed on May 23; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 24, 2025
• 2: May 22 & 23 are regular days of school; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 24, 2025
• 3: May 22 & 23 are regular days of school; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 25, 2025 is a noon dismissal for students, regular day for staff
• 4: May 22 & 23 are regular days of school; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 26, 2025; June 25 & June 26 are noon dismissals for students, regular day for staff
• 5: May 22 & 23 are regular days of school; Last day of classes Gr. K-6 is June 27, 2025; June 25, June 26 & June 27 are noon dismissals for students, regular day for staff

Parent/Teacher Conferences

This fall, Elementary and Middle/High School parent/teacher conferences will occur at separate times. Spring parent/teacher conferences will be held in March. The dates/times are as follows:

Elementary Fall Conferences

• November 14 – Evening
• November 15 – All day (No classes for K-5 students, regular day of classes for Gr. 6-12)

MS/HS Fall Conferences

• December 12 – Afternoon (All Gr. 6-12 students released at 12pm, regular day of classes for K-5)
• December 13 – All day (No classes for Gr. 6-12, regular day of classes for for K-5)

K-12 Spring Conferences

• March 13 – Afternoon and Evening (All students released at 12pm)
• March 14 – Morning for Elementary only (No classes for all students)

School Vacations

The Pelham Public Schools will be closed for the following weeks this school year:

• Holiday Recess: December 23, 2024-January 3, 2025
• Winter Recess: February 17-21, 2025
• Spring Recess: April 14- 21, 2025

Syncing the Calendar

In addition to the PDF version of the calendar, the District maintains a digital calendar, which can be synced to your online calendar, such as Google, Apple or Outlook. To sync the calendar, visit the District’s calendar page and click the Feed icon (shown at right). On the ensuing pop-up window, click the iCal button corresponding to the calendar you wish to import and copy the link. You can subscribe to the calendar(s) by pasting the link into your email client.

Calendar Changes

It is common during the school year for the dates, times and places of events to change or for additional events to be added. As changes are made, the District will update both the PDF calendar that is posted to the website and the digital calendar. It is important to check back periodically to see what has changed.
