Editor’s note: This announcement was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor. The Pelham Examiner publishes announcements in the form received as a service to the community.
Our community was significantly impacted by the extreme precipitation our region experienced last night. We greatly empathize with all of our residents who are managing through the aftermath. Tomorrow and Friday, the DPW crews will accept larger than usual collections at the curb. You may place items at the curb at your convenience ahead of collection. Construction debris (sheetrock, insulation, etc.) is not accepted due to Westchester County collection regulations. Please keep in mind crews may be running later than normal due to possible larger collections and more frequent trips to the drop-off center. Metal/appliance collection is moving forward as regularly scheduled today, Wednesday, August 7.
If residents have any questions on operations please call Village Hall at 914-738-8820.

Residents are advised the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook and Flood Watch for our area. There is increasing level of concern for the region, thunderstorms are likely to develop around 2pm and may continue through the overnight hours. Periods of heavy rainfall are possible. It is important to remember that a NWS watch is intended to provide enough lead time for people to have a plan in case threats increase. A watch can quickly be upgraded to a warning, make sure to monitor local weather conditions.
