To the editor:
We are your neighbors in Pelham Manor, having lived here since 1994. We are concerned that the village is using time, energy and money to prevent us from voting on a referendum on whether our local elections should be held in March or November. Eight hundred of our fellow Pelham Manor residents have lawfully requested by petition that the citizens of Pelham Manor be allowed to vote on this issue. Judge Linda Jamieson of the state Supreme Court ruled on July 30 that the referendum petition is legal and valid and should be included on the November ballot. What is Pelham Manor afraid of in allowing the people to vote?

Thank you for posting this. I agree that its concerning that the village of Pelham Manor wants to avoid a vote on what seems a pretty straightforward issue. Because there’s been no explanation provided for legally fighting the referendum, I am finding this suspicious. Am I the only one?
