Pelham, NY – On Friday, August 16, Rewiring America and the League of Conservation Voters joined Pelham homeowner Greg Spock to host a “front porch ribbon cutting” to celebrate his home energy-efficiency upgrades at 24 Fraser St. made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). Community leaders and local contractors Bryan Smith, Innovative Air, Andy Strauss, Infinity Energy, also spoke to the impact the legislation has had on their businesses and the larger community. The event took place on the second anniversary of the IRA, the largest climate legislation in history, which established expanded tax credits for energy-efficient electric appliances and residential solar.
Greg highlighted the various home upgrades made possible by the IRA, including a heat pump, heat pump water heater, electric vehicle charger, and a rooftop solar array. After the speaking portion of the event, guests were welcome to stay, “test drive” electric lawn equipment and enjoy light refreshments Greg prepared on his electric grill!
This event was part of a nationwide “front porch ribbon cutting” campaign spearheaded by Rewiring America, the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying our homes, businesses, and communities.
