Editor’s note: This announcement was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor. The Pelham Examiner publishes announcements in the form received as a service to the community.
Residents are advised there have been attempted vehicle thefts and home invasions in and around the Village. It is imperative that home and vehicle owners take necessary safety precautions, such as locking their doors/windows and removing their key fobs from the vehicle. Check out this Home Security Checklist provided by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) to use as a guide as you check your home for safety measures. The NCPC provides a bunch of quality resources to assist residents with brushing up on their safety skills.
It is also a good idea to speak with your alarm company to familiarize yourself with how alarms are configured. It is important to understand who will be the first phone call when the alarm company receives a notification. We strongly encourage everyone to program the Pelham Manor Police Desk phone number, 914-738-1000, into their cellphones in case of an emergency. Given our geographic region, calling 911 works best from a landline phone.
