Editor’s note: This announcement was provided by the Village of Pelham Manor. The Pelham Examiner publishes announcements in the form received as a service to the community.
Last week (week of Oct. 21), the Pelham Manor Fire Department (PMPFD) conducted a water rescue operations and procedures course. Personnel practiced donning and doffing water rescue suits, learned proper techniques in probing the water for hazards, trained on the safe operations of using our raft, and simulated various types of water rescues. As a coastal community, this equipment and training are a vital component to our emergency preparedness toolkit.
We would like to thank the New York Athletic Club for allowing PMFD to utilize their facilities for this training effort.
