To the editor:
As a 30-year resident of Pelham Manor, I’m writing in support of a “yes” vote on Proposition 3, which asks Pelham Manor residents to consider moving the Manor village election from March to November.
With early voting starting on Oct. 26 at multiple locations throughout Westchester County, I would like to ask voters to consider the benefits of having in-person early voting available if the Manor village elections were held in November. This is not available based on the current Village of Pelham Manor-run March election.
Another point: I truly believe that the citizens of Pelham Manor can process information about village elections at the same time they are considering state or federal races. Candidates will present themselves to the voters, a debate will take place, doors will be knocked and literature will be distributed.
With in-person early voting available for nine days in advance of Election Day, this will make voting easier and more accessible to a wide range of voters. Regardless of party affiliation, we all benefit.
Thank you for considering a “yes” vote on Proposition 3.
