Pelham, NY – October 2024 – The Pelham Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the Fourth Annual Winter Wonderland Block Party, to be held on Saturday, November 30th, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, beginning at the Gazebo on Fifth Avenue. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for Sunday, December 1st. Thanks to the generous efforts of our Village, a portion of Fifth Avenue will be closed to traffic, allowing families to enjoy this festive event safely.
This year’s event promises an exciting array of activities for all ages, including horse and carriage rides, pony rides, carnival games, DJ Ruben spinning holiday tunes, and a game truck. We are also excited to host our first-ever chili cookoff as a fundraiser for our chamber and welcome back our popular holiday market, featuring local vendors such as Patty’s Pops, Universal Moms, The Lair, Inc., SOOP Theatre Company, Never Stop Moving365 Southern Westchester, M Cruz Creations, Toys by Chris, Paper Pigeon Co., and Provisions Bake Shop.
Free to all families in and around Pelham, this annual event is a gift to the community made possible by our generous sponsors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ball Chain Manufacturing Inc., Logo Tags, and Meridian, who have teamed up to sponsor the horse and carriage rides, Pencil Projects for sponsoring DJ Ruben, Flour Power Bakery for supporting the face painting station, and Pelham Funeral Home for sponsoring the game truck. We are also excited to welcome Treehouse Play Place, a brand-new play space in Larchmont, and Anna and Jack’s Treehouse as the generous sponsors of the carnival activations.
In addition, we would like to express our deep gratitude to The Hudson Valley MCA, The Courtien Families of C&B Plumbing & Heating, and The Royce Family of J&S Mechanical for their continuous support and commitment to Pelham. Their generous contributions help power this cherished community event year after year.
A special thank you to Kelly and Michael at Lamy Graphics for being our official printer for the Winter Wonderland Block Party and helping to ensure that all materials look their best and our sponsors get some nice return on their investment to our day.
We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Steve Madey, Director of the Pelham Children’s Center, who will be donning the suit as our very own Santa Claus! Steve has generously volunteered his time to spread holiday cheer throughout the day. Santa will make his grand entrance at the Gazebo around 4:00 PM, where he will be available for photos with families. Before that, Santa will stop by the library at 1:30 PM for a special appearance.
A big thank you to Manor Auto for providing Santa’s official ride around town!
To wrap up the festivities, The Town of Pelham invites everyone to gather at Veterans Park for caroling led by the Pelham Girl Scouts, followed by more holiday tunes with The Pelham Larks at Pelham Town Hall. It will be a magical conclusion to a day full of festive fun! The day will conclude with the Town of Pelham’s annual tree lighting ceremony at 5:00 PM, a heartwarming tradition to usher in the holiday spirit.
This year’s Winter Wonderland is not only a joyful start to the holiday season but also a celebration of Small Business Saturday, a national event dedicated to supporting local businesses. Small Business Saturday is vital to “mom and pop” shops, which form the backbone of our local economy. By choosing to shop local, we help create jobs, support neighborhood prosperity, and ensure the unique character of our town thrives. We urge everyone to consider shopping small this holiday season and supporting Pelham’s beloved businesses.
As Chamber President Cristina Chianese steps down in January, she shares these heartfelt words: “As many of you know, this is my final event with the Pelham Chamber. Organizing the Winter Wonderland Block Party has been one of the highlights of my time here. I hope my successor will carry on this wonderful tradition for years to come. For me and my incredible team, this event will always hold a special place in our hearts. It has been a true pleasure serving the business owners and the community of Pelham.”
The Pelham Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank the following contributors who worked tirelessly to make this event possible: Cristina Chianese, Stephanie Royce, Melissa Flynn, Amy Platt, Miranda Bucciero, Danielle DeVito, and Jess Landau.
We are grateful for all the businesses, both inside and outside of Pelham, who have made this event a success. Your partnership and generosity are what make this community strong, and we look forward to continuing to work together to create more memorable experiences in the future.
