Dear Neighbors,

I will be running for reelection to the Village of Pelham Board of Trustees on Tuesday, November 5. It has been an honor to serve our community over the past few years, and I am proud of the progress we’ve made together to build a stronger, safer, and more equitable Pelham. I am eager to continue this important work and ask for your support as we continue to move our community forward.

Our village has made significant progress in several key areas:

First, I am proud that we’ve secured a stellar AA+ credit rating from S&P Global Ratings this past August. This accomplishment reflects our village’s strong fiscal management and long-term focus on maintaining balanced budgets. Our reserves, which had been depleted during the pandemic, are now at an all-time high and in line with New York State guidance—approximately 20% of our annual operating budget. This turnaround has put us in a position to secure excellent interest rates, saving taxpayer dollars and allowing us to make vital investments in infrastructure and public facilities.

I’m also proud of our work to mitigate flooding in Pelham. Our Village-wide Flood Mitigation Project is now in the engineering phase, and I’ve been closely involved in this effort. The project will provide long overdue relief to areas that have suffered from severe flooding during storms, particularly in North Pelham and the Highbrook Avenue area. This work will better protect our community from flooding for years to come, and I’m committed to seeing it through.

In addition to infrastructure and fiscal management, public safety has been a core focus of mine. As liaison to the Village of Pelham Police Department, I work closely with our police department leadership to ensure we are providing the resources they need to keep our community safe. This year, we secured a $681,700 Law Enforcement Technology Grant, which will enable us to upgrade essential technology like cameras, license plate readers and body cameras. This investment will enhance the capabilities of our police force and support their efforts to keep Pelham a safe place to live.

In all of my work, equity and inclusivity have been central to my work as a trustee. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every resident in our community feels heard and supported. As liaison to equitable affairs, I work with residents and landlords to address housing issues and resolve disputes. My focus has always been to ensure that Pelham remains a place where everyone can thrive.

Looking ahead, there is still much to accomplish. I am excited to continue our work on key projects like flood mitigation, infrastructure upgrades and expanding our tax base through thoughtful development. I remain committed to ensuring that our village’s growth is sustainable and beneficial to all residents. Together, we can build on our successes and face our challenges with confidence.
