Update: Sanitary sewer lining efforts are in process. Residents should note there will be no parking on Highbrook Avenue from Colonial Avenue to Witherbee Avenue on Tuesday, November 12 throughout the day.
Original Message: To support the regular maintenance of our sanitary sewer system, the Village has undertaken a Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project with Skanex to improve sections of the existing sewer system. As part of this project, Skanex will be using an advanced trenchless lining system, which allows a new pipe to be installed inside the existing sanitary sewer line without roadway excavation.
We anticipate completing approximately 54,000 linear feet of trenchless lining over the coming weeks. Homes within the project boundaries will receive a notification on their door handle which will reflect a schedule for construction activities. It also outlines compliance procedures for this project to be most effective, such as:
- DO NOT shower or bath, do laundry, or use washing machines.
- Limit the use of water that drains into to the sanitary sewer. ex. toilet uses and running water down the sink.
- Make arrangements with unaffected neighbors, friends or family as necessary for toilet use, bathing, laundry, etc.
The project limits are roughly:
- Highbrook Avenue (full length)
- Witherbee Avenue (full length extending through easement up through Manor Ridge Road)
- Pelhamdale Avenue (Hazen to the northern entrance to Manor Lane)
- Easement from Stellar Avenue to Wolfs Lane
