At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting (Oct. 28), twelve Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts from Troops 2617, 2834, and 1561 Pelham Service Unit were recognized for recently earning their Girl Scout Silver Award. Mayor Jennifer Lapey provided an overview of the various projects undertaken to achieve the awards, many of which took place right here in our Village. Each girl completes a 50-hour project, either as part of a small team of Cadettes or on her own. The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn and gives girls the chance to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills. We are so proud of these civic-minded leaders within our community!
