Filmmaking: Trailers President’s Week Break: Feb 17-21
Go in front of and behind the camera to create an original trailer for a feature film in this 5-day camp! Working both as a whole class and in small groups, campers will come up with the idea for a new feature film — and then make a movie trailer for that film! Camp is a fun and collaborative environment where students learn about genre, character development, camera work, acting, and directing. The finished trailer will be posted to The Picture House’s Youtube with each camper’s name in the credits!
Poems on Screen: Spring Break: April 14-18
The sidewalk ends at The Picture House this spring break as we celebrate National Poetry Month and bring poems to life on screen. Emerging filmmakers, young actors, and wordsmiths will be inspired by different, well-known (age appropriate) poems each day. Under the guidance of professional film educators, kids in grades K-2 and 3-5 will learn movie-making techniques, show off their acting skills, and use their imaginations to create short films inspired by timeless poems. The finished film(s) will be posted to The Picture House’s Youtube with each camper’s name in the credits!
