Westchester County Executive George Latimer will join with Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF), and the Westchester County Parks Department at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla on Saturday, November 23 at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the opening of Westchester’s Winter Wonderland Drive -Thru Holiday Light Extravaganza. Thanks to the event’s presenting sponsor, Westchester Medical Center Health Network, Westchester Parks Foundation will welcome a special child to help him light the tree, 5-year-old Christopher Cox from Pelham who has epilepsy.
Through the expertise of doctors in the Pediatric Neurology department at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital, his family have been able to weather this serious condition since he was diagnosed at 1 years old. As a result of the care from the team there including Drs. Philip Overby and Steven Wolf, Christopher is thriving today and recently started Kindergarten.
Proceeds from this event benefit WPF and allow the organization to further its mission to advocate for and invest in the preservation, conservation, use and enjoyment of 50 parks, trails and open spaces within the Westchester County Parks system.
