Dear neighbors,
I’m excited to share that on Thursday, December 5th, we’ll officially begin moving into our new Municipal Center. I am writing to explain what you can expect as we complete the move.
Please be advised that Village Hall (195 Sparks Avenue) will be closed on Thursday, December 5th and Friday, December 6th. When we reopen on Monday, December 9th, all Village Hall offices – including the Village Administrator’s office, Clerk’s office, and the building department – will be located on the 3rd floor of the Municipal Center, 200 Fifth Avenue.
The full transition to our new building is expected to last through the end of January. Depending on when each department’s internal space is ready for move-in, different departments will relocate to the Municipal Center on a phased schedule. The village’s administrative staff will move this week, and the fire department will complete the move before the end of the year. The police department is expected to relocate in January.
Given the construction of different areas within the Municipal Center, in-person meetings with village staff will be held by appointment only throughout December. To request an appointment with Village administration, please email [email protected]. To meet with the building department or pick up a building permit, please email [email protected]. You may call (914) 738-2015 anytime to be routed to the appropriate department.
This is an exciting milestone, and I look forward to welcoming you all into our new space soon. Rest assured, we plan to host public tours of the building and a formal ribbon cutting early next year once the Municipal Center is completed and fully accessible. In the meantime, please mark your calendars for Tuesday, January 14th, which is expected to be the Village Board’s first meeting in the new meeting hall. This coming Tuesday, December 10th, will be the Village Board’s final regular meeting at 195 Sparks Avenue. All are welcome to attend in person or via Zoom.
Thanks in advance for your patience and support as we begin this transition.
Best regards,
Chance
