The Pelham Manor Volunteer Fire Company will conduct its 2024 Santa and Gumby Run on the 1924 Antique Engine on Saturday, December 21 at the Huguenot Memorial Church parking lot (off Esplanade). The event will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will feature Santa and Gumby with refreshments. All are welcome to join!
Through the years, the Fire Department has had three different patches. Each patch represented the department well, but something always seemed to be missing from each of them. The design concept for the new patch was to combine elements from all previous patches into one. A modern Maltese cross was used to represent the first patch, while the font and background color were taken from the second patch. The village crest with from the third patch was embedded within the Maltese cross. Care was taken to ensure that a piece of each previous patch, along with its colors, was represented, preserving the history of all the patches and the Village Crest. The design concept was brought to PMHS Senior, Sophia Greco, who has already completed a few community projects in the past. She took the ideas and with some going back and forth with edits the new patch was created, featured below.
