Village of Pelham Manor Trustee Maurice Owen-Michaane announced at Monday’s board meeting the village received a $400,000 grant for a “bioretention” system at the corner of Esplanade and Ely Avenue to help in the ongoing efforts to upgrade the storm-sewer system.
The project is one of those outlined in the village-wide drainage infrastructure assessment, said Village Manager Lindsey Luft.
Luft said the grant is “an exciting effort and we look forward to implementing it.”
Trustee Daniel McLaughlin said a community workshop will be hosted on Jan. 30 by the New York Metropolitan Transportation Council at which Pelham residents can discuss and suggest improvements to the streets between Glover Field and Pelham Memorial High School. The workshop will focus on the intersection of Colonial Avenue and Wolfs Lane, as well as Sanford Boulevard and the Hutchinson River Parkway. Register for the virtual workshop here.
