Long-time crossing guard Beatrice Cosentino will likely not be returning to work as a result of a serious health issue, said a Colonial PTA email sent out last week.
Regardless of the weekday or the weather, Cosentino greeted every family with a smile for the past 10 years, knowing the names of most everyone who crossed at the Boulevard-Pelhamdale Avenue intersection near Colonial School.
Cards for Cosentino can be brought to Colonial Principal Rachael Garcia’s office until Jan. 23, the email said.
