Lucille R. Kinney (Nee Schroder) passed away on Tuesday January 14, 2025.
The daughter of William and Lucille (Sisti) Schroder. Born in Brooklyn, NY on August 9, 1930. Raised in Queens. She graduated from Flushing High School in 1948. In 1949 she married Kenneth R. Kinney, Sr of Zanesville, Ohio. They lived in Pelham, NY for 18 years, Mount Vernon, NY for 35 years and Eastchester NY for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Catharine’s Church for over 75 years.
Lucille worked for 25 years at Pelham Memorial High School in the guidance office and main office.
She was very active in all the organizations she belonged to, over 70 years in the Ladies Auxiliary, Military Order of the Purple Heart, held the office of National President (1994 – 1995). The American Legion Auxiliary, Pelham Unit #50, AARP Chapter #2961, Eastchester, NY, the Eastchester Nutrition Center, and a Senior Hall of Fame Inductee (2005).
Delivered “Meals on Wheels” to the homebound, she volunteered as an AARP Defensive Driving Instructor from 1993 to 2016. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Lucille leaves a daughter Karen (James) Mullady of Tampa FL, daughter-in-law Deborah Kinney of Hamburg, NY. Her grandchildren Maurine (J. Derek) Thomas, William Mullady of Florida, Joy (Steven) Robinson of Louisiana and James Mullady 3rd (Shane Cherry) of New York City. Great grandsons, Donovan, Carter and Bennett Thomas, Parker and Andy Robison and great granddaughter, Aurora Rose Thomas. Also step grandchildren Nicholas (Jessica) Wentz, and Jason Wentz and their children, Colin, Dylan and Matthew. Plus, granddaughters, Lauren Kinney, Mary Krystal (Kinney) Doini and Jennifer Kinney.
Lucille is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Sr. (2011) and her son Kenneth Jr. (2009).
Visiting hours will be held at the Pelham Funeral Home Sunday February 2, 2025, between the hours of 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Catharine’s Church, Pelham, NY on Monday February 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
