FOUR CHAPLAINS MEMORIAL SERVICE
The American Legion, Pelham Post 50 will conduct its annual Four Chaplains Memorial Service, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, to honor those four brave and noble U. S. Army Chaplains of various faiths, who selflessly sacrificed their lives for their fellow soldiers on February 3, 1943, during the sinking of the Army transport ship Dorchester in the North Atlantic Ocean. The service will be conducted this year at 11:30 AM, at the Pelham Jewish Center, 451 Esplanade, between Francis Street and James Street, Pelham Manor, NY 10803. The religious service will be held under the leadership of Rabbi Benjamin Resnick, with a member of Pelham Post 50 relaying the story of the Four Chaplains. This service will enable those in attendance to honor and pray for these four men and for all past and present members of our armed forces who both serve today and have served and sacrificed over many years for Our Great Nation, so that we can enjoy the liberty and freedoms, including religious freedom, available to each of us.
The participation of former veterans, active-duty military members and the general public in this tributary event is warmly appreciated.
