Always the party before the party, The Picture House Film Center’s annual Marquee Night 2025 was nothing short of magical. With Oscar party vibes radiating from every corner of the Bronxville Field Club, guests dressed to celebrate TPH in their finest Hollywood-inspired attire, gathered to honor leaders, film, and The Picture House’s mission. The evening was a dazzling display of community spirit, with attendees from Westchester and beyond, coming together to support the preservation of two historic theaters that are the heart and soul of TPH.
“Marquee Night 2025 was a shining testament to the passion and support our community has for the arts and cinema as well as to honor the people who are always there for our organization,” said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director of The Picture House. “Seeing everyone come together, looking Oscar chic and filled with excitement, reminded me just how powerful film is in connecting people and creating lasting memories. This evening wasn’t just a celebration of our past, but a commitment to our future, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who made it so special.”
The evening’s highlights included the presentation of prestigious awards honoring individuals who have made lasting contributions to TPH and the film community. Filmmaker Trudie Styler, radiant in her acceptance of the 2nd Century Award, delivered a powerful and heartfelt speech about cinema’s ability to unite and uplift communities. “Cinema speaks a universal language that transcends borders, cultures, and generations…reminding us that despite our differences, we are all bound by our common humanity.” Styler applauded The Picture House for working “incredibly hard to build a community” and for being “an exciting hub that champions the art of filmmaking and the absolute pleasure of movie-going.”
Congressman George Latimer received the 1921 Foundation Award for his unwavering support of The Picture House and his commitment to the arts in Westchester. Longstanding board member Peter Kohnstamm was recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his dedication to the organization. Distinguished guests included NY State Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, and Westchester County Legislator James Nolan, all showing their support for the arts and TPH’s mission.
After the main event, guests headed to the after-party at The Picture House theater in Bronxville for a candy and cannoli bar, prosecco, and Westchester’s finest popcorn. Guests were treated to a special screening of Trudie Styler’s stunning new documentary, Posso Entrare? An Ode to Naples, a breathtaking tribute to the heart of Naples, Italy. In a surprise pre-screening announcement, Styler generously offered a pair of tickets for the Billy Joel and Sting concert at Citi Field on August 21, 2025 to be auctioned by The Picture House this spring. More details to be announced later this month.
