Rotary Club of the Pelhams announced that the 2025 Rotary Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating Pelham Memorial High School senior in June will total $20,000, an increase of $5,000 from recent years.
As usual, the scholarship money will be given to the winner in four installments over his or her college or university career.
The Rotary Scholarship Committee will select the winner based on academic achievement, community and school service, extracurricular activities, and financial. It is also expected that the winner has high ideals in education, dedication to community and service and in helping wherever possible to bring peace to the world.
Applications for the Rotary Scholarship are available through the PMHS Guidance Department.
The $20,000 scholarship is funded through donations by the 17 members of the Rotary Club of the Pelhams and donations from community members. Donations may be made at pelhamrotary.com
In addition to awarding the annual scholarship, Rotary recognizes Marilyn Stiefvater Scholars of the Month during the school year.
Rotary Club of the Pelhams meets on the first and third Wednesdays of the month for lunch at Rockwells Restaurant at 12:15pm. Usually there is a speaker. At the April 2 meeting, the speaker will be Town Supervisor Dan McLaughlin. Admission is $25 and includes lunch.
