The Department of Public Works will begin Organic Yard Waste Collection on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 (Village-Wide), running through October 8, 2025. Residents are reminded that to be collected, organic yard waste must be placed at the CURB in either biodegradable paper bags or an open 30-35 gallon container by 7:00 a.m. on the scheduled collection day or after 7:00 p.m. on the night before. Please observe the following guidelines:
Brush and branches: No longer than 4 feet long with a diameter of no more than 3 inches, tied in bundles. DO NOT tie with nylon line, tape, or metal wire.
Grass, twigs, leaves, and other loose yard waste: Place in open 30-35 gallon containers or biodegradable paper bags.
Logs, stumps, stones, dirt, fruit, seaweed, clumps of grass, treated wood chips, root balls, acorns, and other large debris WILL NOT BE COLLECTED and must be disposed of by the homeowner.
Gas-Powered Leaf Blowers: The Village prohibits the use of gas-powered leaf blowers from May 1st to October 14th and from December 16th to March 14th. Violations by a property owner or your lawn maintenance provider can result in enforcement action against the property owner, including a $250.00 fine, by Village Police. Please use the attached flyer attached flyer to distribute to property owners or lawn maintenance providers.
