Dale Alice Martin, 21, of Bethlehem, Connecticut, died on April 13, 2025, following admission to a nearby hospital to treat a broken ankle. The cause of her death is under investigation by law enforcement.
She was born in Manhattan, New York City, on May 26, 2003. Dale is survived by her parents, Gillian Fassel and Lindsay Martin, her sister, Lark Martin, her grandparents, Ruth and Charles Fassel, Priscilla Kent, Paul and Georgeann Martin, her Aunt Virginia Martin, her Uncle Andrew Fassel and Aunt Gia Kourlas, her Uncle Ross Martin and Aunt Melissa Sherrill, her beloved cousins Harker and Lily Martin, and her extended family in Finland.
Dale attended Pelham Middle School, and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 2021. At the time of her death, Dale was preparing for her senior year at Trinity University, in San Antonio, Texas, where she majored in English and History. Dale was a citizen of the Cherokee Nation.
A beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, and friend, Dale will be forever remembered for her fierce loyalty, her keen sense of justice and duty to the underserved, her dry sense of humor, her sweet smile, her sensitivity and empathy, her scholarship, her dedication to books, music, theater, animals, nature, children, and to all people who needed her help.
Dale gave the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation, saving four individuals and enriching countless others.
Dale’s Celebration will be held at The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum on Sunday May 18 at 1:00 pm, 895 Shore Road, The Bronx.
Parking is reserved at the Split Rock Golf Club, 870 Shore Road. Participants are asked to wear Yellow, in honor of Dale.

To continue Dale’s volunteer spirit and to further the causes that motivated her service, her family has established Dale’s Fund, a tax exempt Community Foundation.
