PELHAM, NY — June 1, 2025 — The Friends of the Town of Pelham Public Library are now recruiting hosts for Novel Night 2025, the beloved, biennial fundraiser that turns Pelham into a literary wonderland for one magical night. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 4, 2025—and consider stepping up to host, participating in one of Pelham’s most beloved traditions.
Novel Night is a town-wide celebration like no other—but it can’t happen without hosts! Residents across Pelham open their homes, decks, yards—or even partner with a local venue—to host themed dinner parties inspired by their choice of a favorite book. Guests dress in keeping with the theme. Hosts serve dinner, beer, wine, and a signature cocktail.
After the dinners, all partygoers head to the New York Athletic Club for a dance party that would make Gatsby jealous. It’s a bash of epic proportions, and it all benefits one of Pelham’s most vital institutions.
Whether your home is a grand Mediterranean or a cozy Colonial, Novel Night is your chance to welcome neighbors, make new friends, and support a great cause. Parties can be hosted solo or with co-hosts. The Friends’ organizers are happy to provide inspiration and guidance to hosts on picking a book, choosing a caterer, decor, and more.
Why Novel Night Matters:
The event raises crucial funds that support 10% of the Library’s annual budget, helping to provide:
- Expanded tech and digital access
- A deep and varied book collection
- Updated furnishings
- Educational programs for all ages (including story time, homework help, and Lego club for kids, as well as monthly book clubs, computer instruction, career coaching, Mah Jongg, and more for adults)
Novel Night helps keep the Library thriving—and it all hinges on the generosity and creativity of local Pelhamites, opening up their homes to host.
