Village of Pelham Manor police blotter: June 9-13

Sunday, June 9

1:38 a.m. — Noise complaints were received from Francis Street; a party stated that there was loud music playing. Upon further investigation, it was found to be coming from a Mount Vernon residence. Pelham Manor Police Department contacted the Mount Vernon police department, who advised that the music was in the process of being shut down.

 

5:48 a.m. — Received a call from a security operator, stating that a silent alarm had been triggered at the local Panera Bread on Pelham Parkway. Upon further investigation, the alarm was found to have been set off accidentally by an employee.

 

2:07 p.m. — The department received a report from a guard at the Shore Front on Shore Road, stating that a person, believed to not be a resident of the town, was refusing to leave the area. Officers were dispatched, but the suspected loiterer had left the scene prior to their arrival.

 

Monday, June 10

10:43 a.m. — Notification was received that the Pelham Manor Fire Department had been dispatched to a location on Townsend Avenue for a suspected gas leak. The leak was confirmed, and Con-Edison workers were on the site and in the process of resolving the issue.

 

10:57 a.m. — Received a call from a security operator, indicating a motion detector in a home on Highbrook Avenue had been set off. Officers responded to the scene, and confirmed that the house was secure.

 

Tuesday, June 11

1:49 a.m. — A call was received reporting a wheelchair-bound party in the middle of Boston Post Road. Caller was concerned for the party’s safety. Upon arrival, the party refused further assistance, and eventually began his way to the Bronx.

 

4:20 p.m. — Call received by a party on Grant Avenue. She reported that she saw two minors riding motorbikes in the street. Upon arrival, both parties had left the area.

 

8:00 p.m. — Report received of a middle-aged, possibly disabled, black male publicly urinating by Glover Field. Following further investigation, it was found that the man resides in a group home. Group home employees were notified of the issue, and asked to watch the resident carefully, in order to avoid a similar situation in the future.

 

Wednesday, June 12

12:14 a.m. — An officer discovered that the road sign at the intersection of the Boston Post Road and Manor Ridge Road had been knocked down

 

1:02 p.m. — A resident reported a man sitting on the curb opposite the bus stop by Esplanade on the Boston Post Road. It was discovered following questioning that the man was waiting for the bus as his car had been disabled. He was advised to sit on the bench, and on later inspection had left.

 

6:00 p.m.– While on stationary patrol, an officer observed an unregistered moped heading westbound on Boston Post Road. The man identified himself, and it was found that his license had been revoked a total of six times in the past, one of those for the refusal of a chemical blood alcohol test. His driving status also included the necessity of an interlocking device. While the suspect was being searched, the officer uncovered a bottle of pills not prescribed to the man, later found to be Xanax. The vehicle was impounded and the suspect was transported to the Pelham Manor Police Department. He was found guilty for a total of eight violations, and bail was set at $200, and the man is to be tried later this month.

 

Thursday, June 14

1:32 p.m. — An arrest was made for a Class-A misdemeanor and minor larceny. The arrested female had stolen Red Bull beverages from CVS Pharmacy on the Boston Post Road on May 25, 2019. The woman turned herself in for the crime, and was found to have several other warrants outside of the city. Upon her court trial, the suspected female was released by the judge on her own recognizance. She is due back in court later this month.

 

6:45 p.m. — It was reported to the department that a loose dog had been found and taken in. The women who discovered the animal was able to get into contact with it’s owner who later resumed possession of the dog.

 

7:01 p.m. — Upon trial for substance possession in the 7th degree, a party was found guilty, and was released on his own recognizance. Following the trial, the party was transported to the Westchester County Jail on account of a separate charge.
