Mount Sinai Doctors Westchester office in Pelham downtown closed due to unspecified damage to building
Mount Sinai Doctors, a newer installment to Pelham’s downtown area, recently closed due to critical but unspecified damage to its building. The 116 5th Ave. practitioner’s office is near shops and residences on Fifth Avenue, including apartment buildings housing Pelham families.
The sign on the door is not particularly informative, simply stating that the location is currently closed due to “serious damage,” and the doctors have relocated to another facility in Yonkers.
The Pelham location’s online presence is incorporated into the larger Mount Sinai website, listing the associated doctors as well as a general blurb, describing the clinic as “a large, multispecialty practice, including primary care physicians who are here to serve your general medical needs.”
The listed phone number for the Pelham clinic currently goes to an emergency hotline. When the Yonkers location where the workers were moved was contacted, office managers declined to comment to the press. The public relations office for the entire hospital system directed a reporter to another contact who was not available.
According to the Mount Sinai website, the Pelham office had two affiliated general practitioners who specialize in family medicine. These doctors work closely with the Mount Sinai Health System and have a wide range of clinical focuses in their fields of general and family medicine, the site said.
Additional information, including the details of the damage and when the office will be up and running again, will be featured in a future update.

This building was badly damaged by the cliff collapse in late 2004. One portion was rebuilt following. I do not have specific knowledge of the current issue…however, this is a building with a major damage history.
