PMHS varsity boys soccer goes undefeated in early games

Pelham Memorial High School’s boys varsity soccer team has shown that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Captained by Cole Keough, Benjy Schneider, and Josh Goldman, the team has remained undefeated so far this season.  They currently hold a record of 2-0-2 and have victories over both Scarsdale (2-1) and Harrison (6-0).  The team tied Rye (0-0) and managed a draw against Eastchester (3-3) after overcoming a three-goal deficit.

When asked about how the team is dealing with play during the ongoing issue of COVID-19, Team Captain Benjy Schneider was optimistic. “Despite the ongoing pandemic, the team has not let this get in the way of our success,” said Schneider. “We are continuing to put in the hard work so that we can make a title run for the league and the section.”

Schneider’s high opinion of this year’s team extends to its attitude as well.

“I think that we have a special team this year, and we are all hungry for silverware,” said Schneider.

The team’s next match will be against Sleepy Hollow HS on October 24th at Glover Field.
