Kate Douglass is in Pelham—visiting swim teams
Back from the Tokyo Olympics, Kate Douglass visited the New York Athletic Club and Pelham Country Club junior swim teams on Friday to sign autographs and take pictures with the swimmers.
Douglass was a part of the NYAC swim team, and she also swam with members of the PCC team throughout her childhood. In addition to signing autographs and taking pictures with the swimmers, the Olympic bronze medal winner answered questions from the kids about her experience at the Tokyo games.
“I really cherished all the friendships I made with all the people on the team,” said Douglass “It was really awesome.”
Douglass has a special bond with the NYAC team, as it was one of her first swim teams. She offered to meet all the kids, pose for pictures with her medal and sign swim caps, shirts and bags.
To aspiring athletes Douglass said, “Believe in yourself, never doubt yourself and always have fun.”
