Mohan for school board: Pelhamites back her for organizing youth sports, local service, professional experience
To the editor:
As volunteers in our youth-sports programs, we are writing to endorse Theresa Mohan for the board of education. Theresa has been involved in sports in Pelham since 2001, when she first coached her daughters in recreational soccer. While coaching many sports over the years (Little League, softball, basketball and soccer), she has also taken leadership roles in our Pelham Travel Soccer Club program and the Our Lady of Perpetual Help-St. Catharine’s CYO Basketball program. It is through OLPH-St. Catharine’s CYO Basketball in 2016 that Diana and I personally got to know Theresa. Upon taking over the leadership of the program, it was her priority to make the basketball program available to as many children as possible. She created the website and automated system of registration we still use today. But, more importantly through her efforts, our program more than doubled in size and children of all skill levels could participate and learn firsthand how fun it is to be part of a team.
Theresa has been a member of our community for more than 20 years; she will have had four children in our public schools from 2000-2025. She has been an involved member of the PTA serving as the Hutchinson co-president, a trustee in the Village of Pelham and has professional experience as a chief legal and human resources professional that will serve our community well. She has demonstrated innovative, collaborative leadership, and in addition to all these community contributions, Theresa has been an advocate for youth sports and expanded participation. Please join us on May 17 and vote for Theresa Mohan for board of education.
