PMHS boys lacrosse rolls Sleepy Hollow, advances to Section 1 semifinals
After Tuesday’s 12-2 win over Brewster, the PMHS boys varsity lacrosse team continued its postseason success Thursday by defeating three-seed Sleepy Hollow 14-6.
The Pelicans got out to a bit of a slow start, leading 6-3 at the half. However, they poured it on in the last two quarters, thanks to a 7-0 run in the third. Senior captain Daniel Johnston led the way with five goals, giving him 13 points (assists and goals) throughout two playoff rounds.
Sixth-seeded Pelham advanced to the semifinal, where they will take on seventh-seed Hendrick Hudson at Glover Field on Monday. Pelham has already defeated Hen Hud once this season, winning 7-3 in April.
As the Pelicans head back home for the semifinal, a Section 1, Class C title is well within reach.
