Pelham schools call two-hour delayed start Tuesday after snow forcasted for Monday night

All Pelham Public Schools will open on a two-hour delayed start Tuesday following the forecast of snow Monday night into Tuesday morning, said Superintendent Dr. Cheryl Champ in an email sent out Monday evening.

The delayed start is “to allow time for our staff and students to make it into work and to ensure our campuses are safe,” according to Champ. “All schools will open at 10:15am and middle/high school students will follow the 2-hour delay bell schedule,” she continued in the email, and noted that there will be no period zero for middle and high schoolers.

“We will monitor conditions in the morning and if there is a need to shift to a full closure we will send a follow-up communication by 7:30am,” the email continued.

An expected snowfall of 3-5 inches is reported for Westchester, southern New York, and northeast New Jersey areas by the National Weather Service.
