Two constables sworn in at Town of Pelham board meeting
Town of Pelham Supervisor Dan McLaughlin swore in two new town constables, Corey Dawkins and Ray Mena, at the council meeting March 6.
Currently, Dawkins is the director of campus facilities and administrative services at SUNY Orange. He also works in the Westchester County Department of Public Safety as a sergeant. Mena works in the Westchester County area as a law enforcement officer.
As constables, Dawkins and Mena will be responsible for ensuring the security of the staff and the public during town court sessions, as well as provide community support, prisoner transportation and several other duties.
Justice Adam Kagan handled his first arraignment at a mental health court, a new program where those charged are given mental health treatment and services rather than prison sentences, said Councilwoman Kristen Burke.
