Andrea Memoli – May 16

Andrea Memoli of Clearwater, Florida, passed away on May 16, 2023, surrounded by her family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer and heart disease. Andrea was a beautiful strong independent and compassionate woman who was raised in New York City by her parents. She was a doting daughter, sister, niece, friend, and aunt prior to becoming a life partner, mother and grandmother.

In the 1960s, in the Bronx, Andrea would meet and fall madly in love with her devoted husband Ralph.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1944, Andrea was one of five children. Her family would eventually relocate to New York. She was an academically gifted individual who was taught to always put family first and pursue education. She had a panache for the fine and performing arts. Her studies across City College and SUNY Farmingdale included fine art, medical and health sciences. Andrea also studied Latin and belly dancing. She came from a family of talented musicians and dabbled in singing and playing the piano. Her favorite pastimes included reading, going to the beach, museum and art gallery visits, film, photography, travels with loved ones, and church involvement. Eventually she retired from Bronx Lebanon Hospital following a career in hospital administration. Andrea then relocated to Florida where she lived for several decades. In Florida, Andrea worked for Community Hospital as well as Global Construction. She was active in her homeowner’s association and had a history of volunteering with the Girl Scouts of America.

Andrea had a lust for life and was always the first to get on the dance floor. She was a warm and welcoming host and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. If you had a favorite dish, she was excited to prepare it for you with her beloved husband. Their holiday and dinner parties have served as quite memorable across many generations of family and friends with Ralph as head chef and Andrea as sous chef. Andrea will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and wonderful friend. She will be dearly missed. At this time, her family finds comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind.

Andrea is survived by her husband, Ralph, of 54 years, and their children, Michelle and Ralph (Paul) and her treasured grandson, Mikhayl. She was preceded in death by her parents AnnaMaria and Miguel and brother, Miguel; she is also survived by her sisters Carmen, Aida, and Migdalia, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
