Dear Reader:
From all of us at the Pelham Examiner, we hope you had a fantastic summer! With kids back to school and fall activities and events well underway, it’s a good time to take a minute to reflect.
We were busy this summer. We covered all sides of the debate over improving ambulance service in Pelham, the Picture House’s Picnic in the Park, previews of the fall high school sports seasons, the Gazebo Summer Concert Series, the repaving of Boston Post Road and a celebration of Rotary Scholarship winners. We also became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, allowing us to formally seek support from the community through donations.
And now here we are in September with so much to look forward to: Novel Night, Homecoming, SOOP Theatre Company’s Production of “Mean Girls,” the Civics Gala, everything Halloween, the village and town candidates in the General Election and more. The Examiner will be there, reporting on it all for you!
We believe that access to vital information about our town should be free. With a staff of volunteer student writers and editors, our costs are modest but they are not non-existent. We need to take steps to ensure both a sustainable future for Pelham’s community newspaper and to continue our mission to teach our all-volunteer editorial staff how to research and write compelling stories and engage in the civic process.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Pelham Examiner. Every dollar makes a difference!
With gratitude,
Rich Zahradnik
Executive Director
